“The farther away Asperger adults grow from being kids, the more we face profound challenges”

Empathizing with the Asperger Adult, by Simon Huebner.

The farther away Asperger adults grow from being kids, the more we face profound challenges. Growing up and maturing is a vital lesson to learn, whether or not the people you are surrounded by do the same or not. If a concerned parent or confused kid is looking at me for advice, I do not care where they are from as long as we’re on the same page when it matters the most. I’m interested to see what would happen if the insecure outcasts (Asperger child) who liked to read, tinker, play video games, and survey their surroundings from different places find their voices and put their heads together. I might not often express love and kindness, but I know I can provide a positive atmosphere for someone who feels broken down by the world and has to be built up.
