Asperger Students Need Fulfillment

Asperger Students Need Fulfillment

After a discussions with an adult clients that have Asperger Syndrome and Asperger students, I came to the conclusion that the feeling of fulfillment for Asperger students is elusive, and yet, this population is fulfillment driven. The school system does not incorporate fulfillment as part of the curriculum, it’s not an objective. It’s not used as a motivator. It is considered irrelevant to academic tasks.  As a matter of fact, our education system reduces and restricts opportunities for students to experience fulfillment. This is not to say that the school system is intentionally cruel, it’s just not designed to be individualized. Since fulfillment cannot be measured on a standardized assessment, it becomes a useless tool for determining progress.
